Dressing A Candle And Starting A Spell

Dressing A Candle And Starting A Spell Cover
Dressing a candle: Purify and consecrate the candle, stroke the candle from bottom towards the top with oil. If the candle is scented, choose an oil or essence that will harmonize with whatever you're doing with the candle.

Having dressed the candle by brushing oil all around, say "As I dress this candle, let it be a handle*, as I dress its shank, this shall be my hand**."

Then carve into the wax of the dressed candle, the name of the person you are casting the spell on. If you want the spell to work a specific time, stick two pins into the candle at a certain distance from the top. Pins should cross each other. How far down you put the pins is the amount of time you want the spell to work, or when you want to start working. When you light the candle, say:

"When the light reaches my pins, this shall be the point where my spell begins".

* - (Witch word) A hold on what or who the spell is on.
** - (Witch word) A noose.
