Gender: Masculine
Elements: Air
Deities: Osiris, Astarte, Diana, Ra
It has both a masculine and a feminine side, almost completely separate. Masculine properties: The energy associated with the masculine aspects of this wood are duality and balance, like the tides. This energy is deeply connected with the ocean, which is alternately giving and destructive. To truly utilize the masculine properties of this wood, one must be able to recognize and become comfortable with the ebb and flow of its energy. Feminine properties: Centered on the element of fire, Koa in its feminine aspect brings creativity, beauty, and wisdom, and strength. It also brings a fiery energy, capable of destructive power or the power to overcome strife.
Magickal Uses: Protection, psychic and spiritual enhancement, money, platonic love, and friendship. Use to anoint candles aids psychic powers, meditation, platonic love, psychic awareness; purification; inspiration; wisdom; visions; anointing; protection; prophetic dreams; spirituality; money. A sprig place over the bed wards off evil.
Ritual Uses: In India, the wood is used as fuel in scared fires, and also in building temples. Acacia is an excellent choice to build a small chest or sacred box. It should be handmade and used only to store your ritual tools.. If unable to obtain enough to build the box, the powdered herbe may be used to consecrate the containers you use for sacred items.
Other Uses - The dried gum can be burned as incense, the leaves and wood can be infused to create sacred water for aspurging. This gum is water soluble and when dissolved in boiling water, clarifies and makes a very good adhesive that is used, among other things, to make scented beads and pomanders.
Acacia can be used for blessing any sacred space.
In Hoodoo: ACACIA is much revered in religious and magical practice. The ancient Egyptians made funeral wreaths of ACACIA leaves and the Hebrews planted a sprig of evergreen ACACIA to mark the grave of a departed friend. ACACIA wood is the Biblical shittim-wood from which Noah's Ark and the Tabernacle and Altar were made. Jewish legend tells us that the Burning Bush of Moses was an ACACIA. Christian legend links an ACACIA tree with the Cross and its spiny branches with the Crown of Thorns. The ACACIA is an emblem of immortality and of initiation, in the sense that initiation is symbolic of resurrection. Many people burn these leaves as incense or dip them in holy water and sprinkle an altar to communicate with or to memorialize the Dead.
Open the Third Eye Bag
You will need:
mugwort
acacia
honeysuckle
peppermint
rosemary
thyme
yarrow
cloves
dandelion
lilac
lavendar
calendula
small purple bag (or a piece of cloth that you can wrap herbs in and tie up
a string
a dark violet marker
Fill the bag with as many of them as you can. Gather the edges of the cloth and tie a string around it if you are using a cloth, or if you used a small purple bag, tie it shut. (Drawstring bags work best.)
Using a dark violet marker, draw an eye on the front of the bag. Rub the bag on the third eye chakra (forehead) whenever performing divination or needing psychic sight, and sleep with it under your pillow every night.
Invoke The Prime Element Within Yourself
You will need:
A clear mind (I suggest meditating till you can clear your mind's eye of all petty thoughts and worries)
1 red candle (fire)
1 white candle (Air)
1 blue candle (Water)
1 brown candle (Earth)
1 item of power/protection (a charm, amulet, ect.) I personally use a clear quartz crystal, Lapis Lazuli(my birthstone) or my Talisman.
And anything else you feel might add to the spell's potency.
You'll have to decide on what time of day or night to preform this spell. I feel the most empowered around 11pm - 12pm during the Waxing Crescent Moon.
I also recommend burning some Acacia while preforming this.
In a quiet and serene place, face north and cast your circle(with your athame or index finger). Once your circle is cast, place the red candle to the south on the edge of the circle, the brown candle to the north, the blue candle to the west and lastly the white candle to the east. Light the candles in a clockwise motion, starting with the candle of your choice saying the names, either out loud or in your thoughts, of the elements they represent. Once all candles have been lit seat yourself(or stand if you prefer) in the middle. With your item of power/protection in hand, recite this incantation:
"Come forth fire, water, earth and air. I seek to know the element inside, where both my power and soul reside. Now is the hour, now is the time. Bring forth my soul's element, my element prime! To my mind's eye I summon you now! Reveal my governing element! (x3-->)So mote/may it be!
After: Snuff out the candles and banish your circle.
If this spell is effective you should have a clear vision/picture of your prime element in your mind.
