Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. Alan Meenan, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Resthaven Cemetery at Lubbock. Mrs. Wall was born in Hardinsburg, Ky. She married C.I. "Stoney' Wall in 1928 at Sedan, Kan. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharlene Steelman, in 1980. She was a resident of Lubbock from 1934 to 1954, when they moved to Amarillo. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, H.F. "Stoney' Wall of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girlstown USA, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174-0001. Alma W. Bringle Alma W. Bringle, 90, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in the city of Lubbock Cemetery. Ms. Bringle was born in Meridian and had lived in Amarillo since 1946. She was a silk finisher for Rattan Cleaners. She was a member of the Queen of the Plains Rebekah Lodge No. 276, the Pythians and the Mothers-in-Law Club. She also was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Virgene Mayo of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. John David Warner John David Warner, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 8, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in The Canyons Retirement Community Chapel with the Rev. Dean Wynn, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Warner was born in Marceline, Mo., and had lived in Amarillo for 25 years. He retired as a clerk from Santa Fe Railway and had done volunteer tax assistance for the elderly. He was a member of the Kansas City Masonic Lodge. He married Grace Brown in 1946 at Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Brackett of Tacoma, Wash.; and three grandsons.Elsewhere Jerri Dean Cross Cotten FRISCO - Jerri Dean Cross Cotten, 47, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, May 12, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in McKinney Chapel Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Jonathan Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Bridges Chapel Cemetery near Talco. Arrangements are by Wood Funeral Home of Bogata. Mrs. Cotten was born in Amarillo and lived here for 22 years. She attended South Lawn, South Georgia and Alice Landergin elementary schools and Fannin Junior High School and graduated in 1968 from Amarillo High School. She attended Amarillo Junior College and received her bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1972 and her master's of education degree from Texas Tech University in 1974. She taught at Rogers Elementary School at Frisco for 12 years and was the elementary counselor from 1993 until her death. She married Larry Cotten in 1975. Survivors include her husband; her children, Ryan Cotten, Amanda Cotten and Rex Cotten; her parents, Buddy and Wanda Cross of Amarillo; and a sister, Jimmie Hopkins of Colorado. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Cantrell Funeral Home at Frisco. Arlie J. Browning MOUNT VERNON - Arlie J. Browning, 73, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Renfro officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery. Mr. Browning was born in Yowell. He married Viola Garrison Browning in 1946. He had lived in the Mount Vernon area since 1985. He retired as the general superintended of Bell Helicopter where he was employed for 26 years. Survivors include his wife; children, Debra Ann Browning and Gary Dean Browning, both of Amarillo, and Karen Lee Warren of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Mary Arlene Davis of Crowley; four grandsons; and a great-grandson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Jeff Minton LITTLETON, Colo. - Jeff Minton, 57, a former Hereford, Texas, resident, died Saturday, May 10, 1997. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Community Church by Chapel Hill Mortuary of Littleton. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in West Park Cemetery at Hereford with the Rev. Jim Powell of Prague, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Minton was born in Hereford. He lived in Hereford from 1940 to 1957, in Amarillo from 1957 to 1960, in Oklahoma City from 1960 to 1977 and in Denver from 1977 to the present. He had attended Amarillo High School. He was a management consultant and a member of Opportunity International, the Denver Leadership Foundation and Promise Keepers. Survivors include a sister, Jane Bullis of Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Lancaster was born and raised in Woodward. He attended schools in Woodward before moving to Guymon in 1965. He worked for Guymon Motor Parts and was a mechanic for Swift Co. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Michael Lynn Duncan of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Kathy Gose of Littleton, Colo., and Joan Fahrney of Grottoes, Va. Lula Hudson Gravatt HOLLIS, Okla. - Lula Hudson Gravatt, 91, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ with Douglas Hale, nephew, and Mark Radford officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery by Patterson-Greer Funeral Home. Mrs. Gravatt was born in Tracy, Texas. She married James Albert Hudson in 1924. He died in 1942. She married Victor Leon Gravatt in 1944. He died in 1974. She worked for the Kraft Cheese Co. in Hollis for three years during the 1940s. She and Mr. Gravatt lived in Gering, Neb., for 28 years. Mrs. Gravatt moved back to Hollis in 1976. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Syvil Nell Smith of Amarillo; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.New Mexico Maggie Ortega PORTALES, N.M. - Maggie Ortega, 84, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Helen Catholic Church by the Rev. Juan Martinez. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Ortega was born and raised in Pintada near Santa Rosa. She attended school at Vaughn. She married Hilario Ortega in 1930 at Anton Chico. He died in 1986. She also was preceded in death by a son, Abran Ortega, in 1993, and a stepson, Modesto Ortega. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas at the church. She belonged to the Senior Citizens as well as Los Abuelitos at Casa de Buena Salud. She was the secretary for Los Abuelitos for several years. Survivors include a stepson, Max Ortega of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Ted Williamson PORTALES, N.M. - Ted Williamson, 89, of Milnesand, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Williamson was born in Knox City, Texas. His family moved to New Mexico by covered wagon in 1909. They settled in Milnesand, where Mr. Williamson had lived for 87 years. He was a rancher. He married Marjorie Bertram in 1947 at Lubbock, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ted Williamson Jr. of Milnesand and Jimmy Dale Williamson of Plano, Texas; a brother, A.E. Williamson of Roswell; a sister, Ruth Scott of Clovis; and three grandchildren. Eldon L. Calder CLOVIS, N.M. - Eldon L. Calder, 60, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Calder was born in Clovis and had been a lifelong Clovis resident. He the former owner of C&C Meat Co. and Hatch Packing Co. in Portales. He had been in the construction business for many years. He attended Forrest Heights Baptist Church. He married Glenda Cox in 1963 at Mexico. Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Jack Calder of Clovis and Ivan Calder of San Marcos, Texas; and two sisters, Helen Taliaferro of Clovis and Martha Jeske of Bakersfield, Calif.Area Wreatha Alma Ramey PAMPA - Wreatha Alma Ramey, 89, died Monday, May 12, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Scott Richards, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Mooreland Cemetery at Mooreland, Okla., with the Rev. Lonny Robbins, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church of Pampa, officiating. Mrs. Ramey was born in Woodward County, Okla., and had been a resident of Pampa since 1943. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She married Ray Willard Ramey in 1926 at Woodward. He died in 1981. Survivors include two sons, Darrell E. Ramey of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Ray W. Ramey Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; a sister, Olive Strothers of Colorado Springs; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Daryl Lanners SUNRAY - Daryl Lanners, 75, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel Echols of the church and the Rev. Wynes Manney of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Lanners was born in Texhoma, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Sunray. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a truck driver for Mark 20 Oil and Gas Co. Survivors include a daughter, Daryla Stafford of Dumas; three sons, Kenneth Lanners of Sunray, Leslie Lanners of Austin and Jackie Lanners of Dumas; two brothers, Louis Lanners of Houston and Calvin Lanners of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. William Frank Goffinet MEMPHIS - William Frank Goffinet, 83, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ with Tom Anderson and the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mr. Goffinet was born in Memphis. He married Lois Richardson in 1934 at Childress. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Memphis for many years. He was on the board of the Fairview Cemetery Association and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a son, William Dan Goffinet of Sayre, Okla.; a daughter, Theresa Juanella Pritchett of Garland; three sisters, Lucille Berry of Lakeview, Eunice Floyd of Memphis and Elizabeth Hodgson of Norman, Okla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Fairview Cemetery Association, Box 265, Memphis, Texas 79245. Irene Reddick Smith BORGER - Irene Reddick Smith, 83, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Smith was born in Gray, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday school teacher for Phillips Baptist Church and Fairlanes Baptist Church for 40 years. Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Smith; three sons, James Reddick of Fort Worth, Ted Reddick of Santa Ana, Calif., and Larry Smith of Erie, Colo.; a daughter, Sherry Moore of Borger; four brothers, G.F. "Bus' Tedder of Farmington, N.M., Glenn Tedder of Fritch, Howard Tedder of Newton, Kan., and Clarence Tedder of Whitharrel; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Robert D. Estes MULESHOE - Robert D. Estes, 71, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. There will be no services. Cremation and arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Estes was born in Alva, Okla., and had been a resident of Muleshoe since April, moving from Thoreau, N.M. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School. He was a former member of the Texas Rangers. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, the Navy and the Army and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Cooties. He also was a lifetime member and chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans of Albuquerque. He was a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America in Amarillo and a volunteer fireman for the Blue Water Acres Fire Department in Thoreau. Mr. Estes married Alice Ray in 1975 at Los Lunas, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Duane Estes II of Seattle, Wash., Moses Estes of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rick Estes of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Debbie Bromaski of Kansas City; and two grandchildren. Vernon Bleeker MULESHOE - Vernon "Moe' Bleeker, 70, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, and the Rev. R.R. Miller of Alexandria, La., officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery at Olton by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Bleeker was born in Cross Plains. He had been a resident of Muleshoe since 1959, moving from Olton. He married Mary Nell Miller in 1946 at Olton. He was a service station owner and operator and a tractor mechanic for the Whitt-Watt-Rempe John Deer dealership. He also was a Toms Peanut distributor. Mr. Bleeker was a member of First United Methodist Church and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alford Bleeker of Houston and Delmer Dee Bleeker of Trophy Club; two daughters, Wanda Nell Cockerham of Eddy and Vondale Mann of Friona; four sisters, Opal McEachern and Jessie Cain, both of Abilene, Emalee Cargile of Haskell and Minnie Doyce Owen of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girlstown USA or a favorite charity.
